After rehearsal with my band me and my buddy without fail seem to dredge up well worn philospohical arguments as to the nature of man, is there a god? The meaning of life, that sort of thing. We never get too deep, we leave that for the tour van, but we have a go at it from one angle or another. Neither of us are particularly religious, but he does believe in an afterlife and I am what he terms a pine box man, that is, there’s nothing on the other side. No God but no Devil either. I admire his take on it though. He thinks that he will be pure consciousness-just an energy floating somewhere in the universe. Is there a God out there waiting to welcome his energy into some heavenly cosmos? Not sure, but a nice idea I suppose. I’m more of the opinion that you should make this life should count and have no need for a backup plan. Worm food is a form of energy too I suppose I could argue.

Viennie V Video Reps UC’s Blue and Gold!

So I’m a total California girl. I was born and raised here, I went to school at a UC and now, I work here. I’m in love with Vinny V‘s “Thinking of You” music video because it totally reps colors from the University of California.
If you didn’t know, all UC’s (Berkeley, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Irvine, Davis, Merced, San Diego, Riverside, Santa Cruz) have the blue and gold colors. There’s different shade variations but it’s still blue and gold.
Blue and gold are just poppin’ colors! Okay, well maybe I’m biased since I’m now an alumni, but it’s true. The costumes in the video look really good.
The video is still fairly new. YouTube says it was uploaded just this past September. Not only do I like Viennie’s style, but I like her voice as well. She has an interesting pop-rock voice but it’s very sweet sounding at the same time.
The Piano Competition

My school recently had a piano competition. They actually announced it several months ago with the winner getting a nice $1000 prize. As a pretty confident piano player, I knew that I could win. I just needed the right digital piano so I read these digital piano reviews and bought the Kawai MP6.
Many of you are probably wondering why in the world I bought a digital piano when I could be playing an acoustic piano. Well, the problem was that you had to bring your own piano. This naturally meant that everybody would be bringing a portable digital piano as opposed to the heavy acoustic piano.
Anyway, I bought the Kawai MP6 for $1500 because I knew that I could win. That means that I basically get a $1000 discount on the amazing Kawai MP6. However, since I also sold my Korg SP-250 for $500, I would be basically getting the Kawai MP6 for free as long as I win.
The competition came last Friday. Most people played some Beethoven or Mozart composition, but I decided to be different. I played something that I made by myself, and guess what. The judges loved that!
Unfortunately, I didn’t win. However, I did get 2nd place, which was still a good $500 prize. Overall, I’m satisfied. I wasn’t sure which digital piano to get, but after reading some great digital piano reviews. I bought the Kawai MP6, and I love it.
Just Getting Started Here

I had to spend a bit of time this morning arranging for a last minute DJ in Denver Colorado. We had booked a trio, but they apparently are broke down in Fort Collins or some little town near there. So I had to improvise. It was too late to try to get a band for the party, at least with a DJ you can have some hope that they will not make the guests upset like a really bad band would. We have everything else ready, although the boy really wants me and all of the other adults to get lost once they start to dance and everything. They keep asking why we do not trust them, but of course I was a 14 year old boy once and there is not a chance that I am leaving them alone while I am responsible for what happens. There is not a chance of that.
This Makes Me Proud of Myself

When a friend asked me a couple of days ago: are you proud of yourself? I couldn’t help but think about what he said for several years afterwards. I thought that what he said was completely meaningless, and in a way I was right. Can someone really feel proud for what he has done? Then I thought about my accomplishments. I have made many things in my life and I love to build and improve them. So yes, I do feel proud about everything I have done. I think about my website related to free sheet music, and I couldn’t feel happier that I have been able to make it so successful in such a small amount of time.
It does make me really happy when I think about it. I think that you should be happy about me, because I feel that my creations and all the stuff that I have built with my bare hands is actually helping people accomplish their goals and obtain what they want (let it be information, music or whatever).
